I don t worry about dying from surgery. When it s my time to go, I will go and not before then, so I don t worry about it. I had shoulder surgery 2 weeks ago and will undergo sleeve surgery Wednesday. I just relax and leave all in God s hands (or to whomever you may believe in).
I ve had great success with my sleeve in the last 8 weeks & my recovery was easier than I d ever imagined it to be. I d do it again if I had to. There are risks involved in this procedure (as in any), some risks can lead to death. Do your research people!!! Make sure your surgeon is qualified. Make sure he or she has done their fair share of WLS.
What follows is a horrible tale of my experience with gastric sleeve surgery. However, before I get into the details I want to stress that I am not criticizing the surgery, and I am not criticizing the surgeon. (I will criticize myself, however.) I am still a proponent of gastric sleeve surgery, and still an advocate of my surgeon.
I almost died eating a Drumstick. Gastric Sleeve Forum. Search: Welcome guest. If it was that hard to swallow what is going to happen when that hits.
A gastric bypass is a last resort for people carrying a dangerous amount of weight. It is available on the NHS for people who have a BMI of more than 40, or for those with a BMI of more than 35 who also have a serious weight-related health condition.
I was dead set against a gastric bypass because of a friend who had it that almost died from an infection caused by complications with her pouch and the severe vitamin deficiency she got. (8 years post surgery) She also threw up just about everything she ate for almost 6 months after surgery, and still gets sick when eating on occasion.
I had constant issues for almost two years.(Which is really Rare) I don t wish that upon anyone. I needed up going to bypass instead of the sleeve and after 5 months things are finally normal as I think they are going to get. If you wanna chat just send me a msg. I can try to another any questions you have.
